Wednesday 2/9:

Today we will accomplish:
  • Continue working in Destination math
  • Send finished recycling plan to an expert
  • Mail package to Ms. Rooney's class
  • Skype with Ms. Rooney's class 9:30am
  • Read Janitor's Boy and write a reader's response 
  • Do a big writing: Where is the most dangerous place on the earth to live and why? or Tornadoes vs. Hurricanes?

Monday 2/7:

Today we will accomplish:
  • Have an introduction to and start working in Destination math
  • Present recylcing plans completed last week
  • Make group recycling plan to send to expert
  • Share videos from Ms. Rooney's class
  • Make video for Ms. Rooney's class
  • Read Janitor's Boy and write a reader's response 
  • Do a mini project challenge: Where is the most dangerous place on the earth to live and why?

This Week's Work:

  • Read: one chapter each day in Janitor's Boy (Chapter 3-7) and do a reflection on each chapter-Copies of the book are in a bag hanging on the door the door of OH if you forgot yours. Weldon family only take one copy home to share.
  • Big Project Plan: Create a plan for easy recycling in Rosemary Beach. Be sure to cite resources and have a way to present your plan to the rest of Mysterious Package when we return on Monday 2/7. This plan should be very detailed and you may talk to each other via skype to get ideas. Please include: 1. a written explanation of your plan 2. Your plan for collecting materials and 3. your plan for delivering the materials to a recycling center.
  • Math: Play online math fact games for 15 minutes a day. Post a blog entry each day about what games you played and why you chose to play these games.

      • Tackle the task of transcribing the videos and audio from our interviews about recycling in Rosemary Beach
        • Do one transcription together
        • Decide how we want to split this work up and how to record our data.
